A morning with The Photographer's Ephemeris (TPE)
I've been using TPE to plan where & when to be for good sun/moon shots for a while. It's a wonderful tool, well worth checking out. Just in case you haven't used TPE the idea is that it'll tell you all about the location of the sun and moon in the sky for any location on earth and any particular day and time. It's very handy for planning where and when to be in order to get great sunrise/sunset/moonrise/moonset shots. I find both the PC and iPhone versions to be useful. The former for a bigger view and quicker browsing and the latter for portability and extra features. I don't have the iPad version for the simple reason that I don't (yet) have an iPad.

Welcome!
This was an accident. Not, however, the sort of accident that makes me check one of my teeth whenever I see the fountains at the Bellagio, so maybe a better word would be unintended. It's a deliberate sort of unintended in that I had to intentionally create this. But it wasn't my original intention.
I intended to simply write a post on Google+, as a handy way to see how useful that would be for sharing photo information. And as it happens, for something like what I'm going to put out in the second post, it's not good enough. It'll be fine for sharing status updates and looks like a sweet way to host photos. It just didn't seem to be rich enough for a real writeup.
So welcome, whoever you are that stumbles on this unintentional beginning. More useful posts will follow, sporadicaly.
